Final Exam Product:
i changed the opacity and the size of certain words in the quote to create emphasis and i made the wreath go behind the biggest snowflake but overall i kept the idea very simple.
Pattern by itself:
to create my pattern i used the snowflake technique toc reate the snowflake and then copied it and used it more than once and rescaled it.

Pattern: Chandler Kieschnick
My Pattern was the sample image used that i took and duplicated and rotated to make it a pattern and i then used it as a fill and filled a rectangle with the pattern. It is a little blurry and low quality so the live trace could have been done maybe a little bit better.

Business Card: Chandler Kieschnick
For my business card i did a gradient with a stainless steal color background to make it look very modern and futuristic then i added another rectangle on top of it that gradated into a blue color to give it the calming effect. I made my text centered and at the top to attract the eye to it and give it an approachable feel. I put the phone number and email at the bottom and put my logo in between the two so that the eye catches the logo before it jumps down to the text of the email and phone number. On the back of the card i just simply had it all the same blue color as on the front with my logo in the top right hand corner so that either way the card is you always see the logo. The design turned out slightly blurry when put into my blog so some of the letters look bunched together so that could have been changed.

CATE logo - Chandler Kieschnick
For the CATE logo i chose to do a cat because the word cat is in CATE and i chose a black cat because it is very serious and bold and fierce, and then i put a red graduation cap on it to make it more about education and to show that it is about school. I made the graduation cap red because the contrast of red and black really makes the red stand out and pop so it emphasizes the point of education in the logo. First the cats eyes were yellow and i changed them to blue to give it a more calm and friendly look to it. i put the words educate with the acronym of CATE capitalized on the graduation cap so that it will also stand out with the graduation cap.

Logo Design - Chandler Kieschnick
I wanted my logo to be very techy and modern so i chose to do very sharp and straight lines on the K and i made it a greyish silver color to look like metal and steel which i think makes it look very sleek and sharp and professional. I made the C a 3D object and made it look like it is coming through the K. I made the C a dark blue color because i think it really makes the logo have a calm and relaxing feel to it as well as sharp and forceful also I thought it would look more professional if the C was a dark color compared to the light greys i used in the K.

Expressions: Chandler Kieschnick
I liked this project a lot because i could do what i wanted to do and make everything describe me in a way. I like really abnormal and strange things that would go unnoticed to some people and i can sometimes be complete opposites. This was a fun project to just mess around and have fun with. The words that are white i made in the shape of myself because i think these are the things that are most obvious about me and that really shape who i am. The words that are the bigger red text and outline in blue are the attributes that i really like about me and they have the first letter capitalized. and the other smaller red words are just random facts about me that you might not know.

Bonus: Chandler Kieschnick
This is my flower in the vase and i used the pen tool to make a stem that goes inside the vase and then i put my flower over it to make it look like the flower was connected to the stem.
Poker Chips- Chandler Kieschnick
I made poker chips for my project and it was fairly simple in the way that i mostly just had to make circles but when i had to have so many circles on top of each other and only covering so much of one circle it got very challenging. This was a good tutorial because it was very long and really shows you that it takes a lot of work to design realistic things. I made one chip blue to make it stick out more and make the picture look like it has more depth to it.

Vase: Chandler Kieschnick
The vase was very simple but very useful at the same time because again it gives a more 3D realistic look at attracts the eye and makes things more interesting. It was cool to see how you can make something so simple look so realistic.
Flower: Chandler Kieschnick
The flower project was very helpful and a good learning experience still because its a project that you cant just copy and paste everything. It has to look at least a little realistic and most flowers are not perfectly symetrical so this was really kind of my own creation and i liked the way it turned out.
Snowboarder: Chandler Kieschnick
The Snowboarder assignment was really fun and one of my favorites because you use the combination of all the skills you have learned and turn it into something that could be come a real design. It is a real graphic design that combines every element of design in one. It was challenging but fun at the same time to realize that i was recreating this design myself.

Logo- Chandler Kieschnick
<-------original logo
The logo above is the logo that I created in illustrator. It was very complex and took a long time yet all of the skills that illustrator has to offer made it possible to create a very similar logo to the original. It is not quite exact but it is very close and it will be great to be able to use the skills that illustrator offers. |

Las Vegas - Chandler Kieschnick
For my Las Vegas logo I used the different options of the pen tool and learned how to better use them. Creating this logo was fun and makes you have to combine all the things we have learned into one project and really helps you get the feel of how to use illustrator.

Spiral - Chandler Kieschnick
The spiral tutorial is a good thing to learn because the spiral shapes makes things more interesting and can draw your eye to a certain area. I chose this specific quote because I thought it was very true even though nobody will ever admit it. Also even if life is not like this for some people it is very much so like this for me!

Splat - Chandler Kieschnick
The splat tutorial really helped a lot and the use of shadows will be really great to know to make things more realistic and interesting. The splatter on the words is also really cool and attracts the eye to what you are trying to get people to look at.

Glyph Shoe- Chandler Kieschnick
For my Glyph shoe I chose to use the comic sans bold font. I used this because it was very neutral and wasn't very fancy but at the same time it wasn't like completely straight and stern letters. I changed the color to the letters and symbols to match the colors of the shoe as best i could to show the different areas and depths of the shoe more clearly, you can see which areas of the shoe are on top of the others and I think that really helps when looking at everything going on within the symbols and letters. I love shoes so that is why I decided to do a nike shoe!!

Quote- Chandler Kieschnick
To emphasize certain words i made them italicized or changed the color. I made the word everyone italicized to emphasize that everyone is literally everyone in the world and when we say everyone on a daily basis we are usually just talking about everyone we know but if we seriously think about everyone in the world including people we don't know that is a lot more people than we think. Also i italicized and changed the color to the word isn't because it is kind of the punch line of the quote and ties the whole quote together by stating again that somebody has to not be thinking for everyone to think alike.

Elements of Design
The nike swoosh shows the element of direction. The tail of the logo is in a diagonal motion which is shown to have action and movement. In fact nike's slogan is "Just Do It" which is also a very intense action statement and they are telling everyone to go out and do something that involves movement and action. So they combined the elements of design into their slogan and logo very well.
The Mona Lisa shows the line, size, and shape elements of design. It shows line by having a clear outline made from the woman and on the woman's dress contour lines are shown for the great detail of her dress to make it look like the sleeves are scrunched up a little. Also this picture shows the shape element of design by showing the positive and negative shape. The woman in the painting is the positive shape because she almost looks as if she is 3D and popping out of the background from the picture and then all of the background around her which is less detailed is the negative shape. Lastly size is represented in this painting because the woman is so big and close and drawn to by the eye as compared to her background which looks like it is at a great distance away so it looks much smaller.

The sketches of the boat and the egg both show texture and value. The boat shows texture by the rocks and cliffs around the boat which actually look like they are very rough and rigid. The egg shows texture by abruptly changing the lightness and darkness of the shade of the line to show the crack in the egg. The crack in the egg looks very real and as many people know when you crack an egg you can see the change in texture very easily. Both of these show value by using different shades of the same utensil or "color" by doing this you can make it seem like an object has depth and perspective to it which makes it have value.
The circle of colors shows how you can get to another individual color from other colors and that they all in a way blend together which you can do by mixing blends of white, black, and some color together. The color of something all depends on how much white and black are mixed into it.

Chandler Kieschnick! My Bio
My name is Chandler Kieschnick and i am a junior here at A&M Consolidated High School. I have D lunch and it's pretty awful since i have it with my brother Carson who is a senior here. I have three older brothers although one is a half brother. My brother Carson is 17 and about to turn 18 in September, my brother Taylor is 19 years old and is a student at Sam Houston University, and then finally my half-brother is 33 years old and has two kids; a girl Addy who is 5 and a boy Cannon who is 3 years old. I've lived in the same house my whole life but i went to a lot of cool places this summer. I went to California for my cousins wedding and stayed in Temecula for a week. California is a very interesting place with many people living there. California has some weird laws like mototrcycles can drive in between two cars that are driving side by side if they dont want to wait and stay behind the cars. That means the motorcycles can cut in front of all the cars at a red light or something! Its STUPIDDDD!!! We actually saw a motorcycle run into the side of a car because they did that. Also i went to New Orleans for a National Youth Gathering, which is a church event. I thought that New Orleans was a strange place for a church event but it was still fun to go to. At the National Youth Gathering churches from everywhere came, there were even churches from Alaska and Hawaii. Out of everyone total there were about 25,000 people that attended the youth event. Toward the end of summer i went to visit my grandparents and all of my aunts and uncles a lot. They all live in the houston area and we usually wake up really early to drive to Galveston or Freeport and go fishing. Other than taking trips this summer I pretty much just stayed here and spent time with friends and then school came out of nowhere and ruined that!!
